With the development of mobile internet technology and the changing of reader’s reading habit, the homogeneous and low-level library reading promotion has become inconsistent in its goal and result.This paper discussed the definition and characteristics of university library reading promotion. Based on the reading promotion service and daily management as well as the teaching management of Tongling Polytechnic Library, it analyzed the existing problems in activity organization, target location and promotion effects from the view of library and reader. It then proposed that library should strengthen institution subject, refine object goal and widen promotion channel to construct reasonable reading promotion system, so as to promote the transformation and upgrade of reading promotion and improve the quality and effect of reading promotion.
