Digitization of government information and e-government have significantly impacted the way libraries provide government information service. This paper analyzed favorable conditions to offer government information service at China's public libraries and argued that relying on the law China's public libraries should firstly focus on digital government information service. It also held the view that public libraries should promote government information service and improve the facility and train government information librarians.
