The Automated Records Analysis and Generation of Database Retrieving and Data Processing Reports

Abstract: This paper tried to simplify the process of database retrieving and data processing reports workflow and improve its efficiency by using a program to automate the data analysis of Web of Science(WoS for short) and the reports generation. so as to reduce the repeated and exhaust human labor tasks. Using Java and its Word file manipulating library, i.e., docx4j, we wrote a program which could handle the saved records of WoS data and decide the citing papers to be self-citation or not, then automatically generated the report from the Word file template. It could at the same time export several summary files containing the papers' and their citing papers' statistic data which then can be used for reports editing or institutions repository data storing. This program separated the human tasks and the data analysis workflow, which could save quite a lot of time-consuming human interference for some other automated workflow systems, making reports generating process simpler and more compact.
